Get in TouchWhen treating patients on referral, I follow a systematic process, to make sure everything happens the way it should, and the standard of service remains high.
The first stage of the process is a written referral using the form below, an email, or a traditional paper referral, which can be posted or emailed to me.
The referral will be acknowledged as soon as possible, usually by email.
Contact will be made with the patient and a consultation appointment arranged at a convenient time.
During your initial consultation, we will thoroughly discuss your case and explore the various implant and treatment options that are suitable for you. A comprehensive clinical examination will be conducted, typically accompanied by a digital scan that captures detailed 3D images of your teeth and gums.
Additionally, relevant x-rays will often be taken as part of the consultation, and these are covered by the consultation fee. For certain cases, a Cone Beam CT scanner may be utilised to generate 3D images of the bones and jaws. However, please note that this procedure incurs an additional charge and may not be required for all patients.
Once all the necessary information has been gathered and assessed, we will discuss the available treatment options, encompassing their respective advantages, disadvantages, and associated costs. During this discussion, you will have the opportunity to ask questions, express your desires, and address any concerns you may have.
Once we have chosen the best path forward, I will write a Treatment Plan for you, which will encompass the outcomes of our discussions. This Treatment Plan will outline various options, if applicable, along with recommendations, estimated costs, and the anticipated duration of the treatment.
If you require additional time to contemplate your options before making a final decision, I would be happy to discuss the Treatment Plan in detail during a follow-up appointment, without any extra charge.
I will provide a detailed description of the specific procedures I will carry out, as well as those that can be carried out by your own dentist.
When you have chosen to move forward with the treatment, we will ask you to sign the acceptance form as a confirmation of your decision. From there, we will arrange appointments that suit your schedule and establish a payment plan.
Furthermore, I will send a copy of the Treatment Plan to your regular dentist, ensuring that they are well-informed about the proposed course of action.
After the Treatment Plan has been approved, we will proceed to arrange and schedule the necessary appointments for your treatment. If there are any specific procedures that have been agreed to be carried out by your regular dentist, we will work together with them to coordinate the timing accordingly. Throughout the treatment process, we will keep your dentist informed about the progress achieved at significant stages, to maintain a cohesive approach to your dental care.
After your treatment is successfully completed, our primary goal is to ensure your utmost satisfaction with the final results. At this point, we will inform you that our role in your care has concluded. We will then proceed to discharge you back to the care of your regular dentist, and I will personally draft a letter to them, clearly stating that we are transferring your ongoing care back into their competent hands.
As treatment concludes, it is important to emphasize the importance of ongoing maintenance. Regular check-ups and proper oral hygiene practices are vital for long-term success. While your regular dentist can handle most maintenance, I prefer to personally monitor implant treatments. After the initial treatment and care phase, I recommend scheduling a review appointment with me every two years. If any follow-up treatment is needed, I will handle it and keep your regular dentist updated.
In the rare event of post-treatment complications, I guarantee that I will attend to any remedial care as a priority.
